At the January 13 School Board meeting, the Bay District Schools Board approved updates to the District Dress Code Policy. These changes are designed to provide families with added flexibility, clarify expectations, and promote consistency across schools—while continuing to support a positive, school-appropriate learning environment for all students.

The updated guidance includes several clarifications families should be aware of. Black is now recognized as a school color for all schools, and denim and white are included in the standard color palette. Club shirts, spirit shirts, and sweatshirts may be worn at the discretion of the school principal. Zippered or button-up sweaters, sweatshirts, and hoodies may be one solid color from either the school’s colors or the standard color palette. Coats and jackets may be worn in any combination of colors, with school colors preferred. Additionally, under the revised language, solid-color sweatpants are now allowed if they align with school colors or the standard color palette.

Families are encouraged to review the full dress code policy online and to contact Parker Elementary with any questions. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to maintain an environment focused on learning and student success.
